Incantation - Vanquish In Vengeance (2012)

It's interesting that Incantation's "Vanquish In Vengeance" was more death doom than Asphyx' "Deathhammer". The record remains as the only brutal death metal album on my list for this year, simply because Incantation never repeat them goddamn selves -- what doesn't seem to be true about the rest of the bands in the genre. Now, why it's also a great death doom record? Apart from three of the longest tracks ('Profound Loathing', 'Transcend into Absolute Dissolution', and 'Legion of Dis') which are %100 death doom, the other tracks are a combination of death doom and brutal death metal ('Ascend into the Eternal', 'Haruspex', 'From Hollow Sands'). The record itself is huge, torturous, and intense. Genre-defining and genre-molding in every sense.
